Mom passed away on Sunday morning, January 18, 2009 with three of her children; Ra’uf, Istimah and Mutahar by her side. Hamidah and Mutalib were with her in prayer and in spirit with at the time of passing from their homes. We are planning a memorial service for Saturday, January 24th. Details to follow. A Selamatan was held at the Subud house in Los Angeles on January 18th. The third day Selamatan took place on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Glasgow House in Eagle Rock.
Our mother was devoted to Subud and to the non-profit organization that we started, My Neighborhood International. My Neighborhood is a Susila Dharma project with the mission of “Empowering Youth Through the Arts”. In Lieu of flowers we encourage a donation to My Neighborhood International so that the work our mother believed in will flourish.
